Streif - Nordic Winter(2007)

挪威民谣团2007年专辑,融合传统的斯堪的纳维亚和挪威民间音乐元素以及现代爵士乐四重奏风格。

Streif is a quartet from Norway that have produced an album of traditional Scandinavian and Norwegian folk songs infused with a contemporary jazz feel. The songs are warm and inviting; the musicians explore the laid back melodies of Eastern Europe and introduce the listener to a blend of styles that they perform with passion and beauty. Nordic Winter is comprised of nine songs that were recorded in two sessions, the first in 1999 and subsequently in 2003. The use of accordion, mandolin and tarogato (a single reed, clarinet like instrument, that has a sound similar to a soprano saxophone) all lend themselves to creating a European jazz feel.

Herborg Kr?kevik - Kvar Ein Dag(2009)

挪威民谣女歌手Herborg Kråkevik2009年专辑,”Kvar Ein Dag”挪威语是“每天”的意思,一如既往纯净声线,一如既往动人歌喉。

Every day you need me strength. A few days a lot, other days just a little.
“As your days are, so shall your strength be”, it says in one of the Psalms.
This makes good to hear of all people, regardless of where we think the strength comes in from …
I have sung hymns all his life, and in recent years I’ve allowed me to sing them in public.
Allowed me because they give me joy and courage.
Accompanied by strengjer and keyboards I’ve recorded a collection of hymns, as simple as possible. Simple, because the Psalms makes me humble, but also excited about the powerful lyrics and great melodies!
I hope they think we are doing fine on the old Psalms, and open øyrene Dean for some new hymns they have never heard …… Herborg.

Psalm is included on the album, every day, Leid gentle light, he takes not the glory of life, Psalm Night, So get when my hands, Oh Jesus,…

[Norwegian Folk] Slinkombas – Slinkombas (1979)

Slinkombas - Slinkombas(1979)挪威老牌传统民谣团,这是1979年的首专。Slinkombas was one of Norway’s first folk bands. They released their self-titled debut album in 1979, for which they won Spellemannsprisen (Norwegian Grammy).

Their second album, …og bas igjen, was released in 1982. Since then the members have had successfull solo careers. The singer Kirsten Bråten Berg is now recognised as one of Norway’s greatest folk singers. Hallvard T. Bjørgum, who plays the eight-string Hardanger fiddle, is one of Norway’s leading fiddlers.

These are my own rips, and they’re not available elsewhere on the web, but the albums have recently been reissued on CD, so buy ‘em if you like ‘em! They are true classics of Norwegian folk.
