Lone Wolf began life in 2009 in various dusty rooms and tape studios around Sweden, songs and ideas slowly coming together through the eyes of singer and guitarist Paul Marshall and the ears of Kristofer Jonson from Jeniferever. After a month of various field recordings, sneaking into concert halls late at night to use the piano, setting up their gear in small village churches, and other places they could find, the basic album tracks were done. Paul brought all the recordings back home to England in September and together with James from Duels, started on the final stages of mixing the album.
Now complete, The Devil and I will be out on Bella Union in late April 2010 and dates will appear on this site as and when they become announced.Band members include Lins Wilson from Grammatics, along with James and Jon from Duels and Napoleon the 3rd.

Cats On Fire 选择这个时候发行精选集，让我有点找不到北。虽说09年他们发行的专辑《Our Temperance Movement》评价不错，即使在往前追溯2年他们的首张专辑《The Province Complains》是一张4星高分专辑。他们发行精选集依然对我来说是一个意外。不过，最后看了列表，觉得其实也还算满意。精选集《Dealing In Antiques 》收录了20首歌曲，其中包括了2001年Cats On Fire 刚组建时到今年的发行和未发行的作品。俩张专辑和一张EP选出来了经典独立流行和独立摇滚的佳品。很多歌都是我比较偏爱的歌，虽说这张精选集有些意外，对于一支只有俩张专辑的独立乐队来说，不过，对于没有接触到他们的歌迷来说是一张质量过硬的精选集。来赏吧~ [转自水手音乐]

[Indie/slowcore] Codeine – The White Birch (1994)

Codeine is an American indie rock band formed in 1989.

Codeine pioneered the slowcore and sadcore subgenres of indie rock, but with a more experimental attitude than other bands in the genre.

They released their first album Frigid Stars on the German label Glitterhouse in 1990. The album was released on Sub Pop the following year.

Their second release, the short album Barely Real was issued in 1992. Immerwahr rejected several of the songs after the recording session. Some of these songs would be re-recorded for the final album. The song W. is a solo performance on piano by David Grubbs (of Bastro, Squirrel Bait and Gastr del Sol). A somewhat different full-band version of the song appears on Codeines next album, but titled Wird.

Brokaw left the band after the release of Barely Real to play full-time with his other band Come, and later Bedhead/The New Year. He was replaced by Douglas Scharin of the band Rex.

Codeine’s next and final release was the full-length album The White Birch, released in 1994.…

A native of Jamaica, Queens, singer/songwriter Morley originally began her performing career as a dancer, receiving a full scholarship to the Alvin Ailey Dance Center at age 17. After a knee injury dashed her hopes of dancing professionally, she turned to choreography, also teaching dance and yoga throughout New York City’s public schools, community centers and shelters. By the mid-1990s, Morley was also writing her first songs, and in 1998 recorded her debut album, Sun Machine.
